Bad Breath?

The Prophet (S.A.W) said: "When a person tells a lie, the bad smell that comes out of the lie keeps the angels one mile away." [Tirmithi]

Keep in mind that you are pushing the angels that protect you away from you when you tell lies. Many are the lies we are aware of telling. Yet  how many more lies do we tell without even considering them as lies, so far away are we from having Islamic morals.

Once a Sahibiah called her son in telling him that she wanted to give him something. The prophet (S.A.W) then asked her if she had in fact given anything to her son. She replied that she had given him a date. The prophet (S.A.W) told her that if she had not given him anything she would have been recorded as lying to her child.

We need to be very careful not to say anything that we are not committed on fulfilling, for all lies are written down. A small lie is noted down as a small lie and a big lie is written down as a big lie. As we are careful to keep our breath pleasant and not offend people with it, shouldn't we be even more careful not to offend and chase away the angels that protect us?

Hadith

Abu Hurairah (Radiyallahu 'anhu), The messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said,
"There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment."

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 582
Hadhrat Jaabir (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Salat is the key to Jannat." (Darami)

Increase your Love!

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) said: "By Him whose hand is my soul, none of you will enter paradise until you believe (have eeman), and none of you will believe until you love each other. Shall I not tell you of something which if you do, will create love among you? Increase the custom of greeting each other with 'as-Salamu alaykum." [Muslim]

Let us increase our love for each other with this simple formula. Loving our brothers and sisters, will help us gain eeman/belief and belief is the key to paradise. Additional recommended etiquettes of greeting are that "The younger person greet the older one, and the walking person should greet the sitting one, and the small number of persons should greet the large number of persons." [Bukhari]

Reading/Studying the Quran in Masjids

Abu Hurairah (Radiyallaahu 'anhu), The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said,

"Any group of people that assemble in one of the Houses of Allah to study the Quran, tranquillity will descend upon them, mercy will engulf them, angels will surround them and Allah will make mention of them to those (the angels) in His proximity."

Muslim

Hadith

"What rights can parents demand from their children?" He (PBUH) "They are your paradise and hell."

(Religious) Knowledge Will Be Taken Away!!

Narrated by Abu Huraira (Radiyallahi 'anhu), the peophet (S.A.W) said,

"(Religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious scholars) ignorance (in religion) and afflictions will appear; and Harj will increase." It was asked, "What is Harj, O Allah's Apostle?" He replied by beckoning with his hand indicating "Killing."

Good Advise

To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did

When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to recieve something better.

Concentrate on this sentence......... The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you. Something good will happen.

Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.

1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say NO to projects that won't fit into your time schedule or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and de-clutter your life.
7. Less is more. ( Altough one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Seperate worries from concerns If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anixety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in you, everyday.
16. Carry the Quran with you to read while waiting in line. (or other well-written inspirational material)
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to tape/CD while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite Quranic verses on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you God."
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33. Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.

GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR US!

Dua- Entering or leaving the house

Dua-When leaving the house:

Bismillaahi, tawakkaltu 'alallaahi wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata 'illaa billaah.
In the name of Allah, there is no might and no power except by Allah.
Reference: Abu Dawud 4/325, At-Tirmithi 5/490. See also Al-Albani, Sahih At-Tirmithi 3/151.

Allaahumma 'innee 'a' oothu bika 'an 'adhilla 'aw 'udhalla, 'aw 'azilla 'aw 'uzalla, 'aw 'adhlima, 'aw 'udhlama, 'aw 'ajhala 'aw yujhala alayya
O Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I misguide others, or I am misguided by others, lest I cause others to err or I am caused to err, lest I abuse others or be abused, and lest I behave foolishly or meet with the foolishness of others.
Reference: Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, An-Nasa'i, At-Tirmithi. See also Al-Albani, Sahih At-Tirmithi 3/152 and Sahih Ibn Majah 2/336.

Dua- What to say when entering the house

Bismillaahi walajnee wa Bismillaahi kharajnaa, wa'alaa Rabbinaa tawakkalnaa.
In the Name of Allah we enter, in the Name of Allah we leave, and upon our lord we depend [Then say As-Salaamu 'Alaykum to those present]
Reference Abu Dawud 4/325. Muslim (Hadith no.2018) says that one should mention the Name of Allah when entering the home and when begining to eat; and that the devil, hearing this says: "There is no shelter for us here tonight and no food."

No Calamity Befalls a Muslim But That Allah Removes Some of His Sins!!!

Narrated by 'Aisha (the wife of the prophet (Radiyallaahu 'anha), The Prophet (S.A.W) said,
" No calamity befalls a Muslim but that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it, even though it were the prick he receives from a thorn."

Best of Shuhada!

Abu Hurairah (radu Allahu anhu) "The messenger of Allah (S.A.W) promised us the conquest of India. If I were to come across that I would spend my soul and wealth. If I am killed then I am among the best of martyrs. And if I return then I am Abu Hurairah the freed (from the fire)." [Nasai, Ahmed, Hakim]

Because of the great reward promised to the participants ghazwa Hind, the Sahabah desired that they might avail it. The merit of this particular Jihad against the polytheists of India is so great that Allah has promised to forgive the sins of this entire army. Those who return alive will be free from the threat of Jahannum. Those martyred in it will have the status of the best of shaheed, i.e. the shaheed of Badr

When one of you Is Angry, He should be Silent!

Ibn 'Abbas (Radiyallahu 'anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said,

"Teach and make things easy and not difficult. When one of you is angry, he should be silent."

Excess laughter!!

Rasul Allah (S.A.W) said: "If you knew what I know you would laugh a little and cry a lot!"

Once Hasan al-Basri passed by a young man who was laughing a lot. Hasan al-Basri asked him: "Oh my nephew, did Allah promise to free you from Hellfire?" The man replied, "No." Hasan al-Basri then asked: "Did Allah promise to give you Jannah?" The man said, "No." Hasan al-Basri said: "Then why are you laughing?"

The horror of Jahhannum is such that one look at it will have a man willing to escape it by throwing his children in, his wife in, his brother in, his parents in, his entire clan in. We cannot imagine throwing our children into any fire one earth to escape it ourselves, yet this is what we will be doing as a result of just a glance at Jahannum. Fear will make us mindless!

On the Day of Judgment Allah will ask a sinner that if he had equivalent to the world in gold would he give it to ransom himself from the fire. In fact, a sinner would readily agree to give twice as much. Then
Allah will say: Did I not ask you for something much less than this in the world? Only a few sujood, only to make guest feel welcome, only to say 'La ilaha ilAllah'. Unfortunately the most ordinary and easy task seems difficult to us because we don't see Jahannum before our eyes. But when we will it will be too late to do anything.

Greatness of Allah- Wallpaper

Ask your Heart!!!

Rasul Allah (S.A.W) said: "Ask yourself for a decision, ask your heart for a decision (saying it three times.) Righteousness is that with which the soul is tranquil and the heart is tranquil, but sin is that which rouses suspicion in the soul and is perplexing in the breast, even if people give you a decision in its favor." [Mishkat]

Everybody has within them the sense to distinguish right from wrong. And each person will be held accountable for using this sense. It is possible to twist facts and get people to give decision that you want to hear, but if your heart is not at peace with the decision then know that it is most likely sinful for you to act on it. Unfortunately, if a person sins enough then the heart becomes dead and the ability to feel disquiet dies.

Rasul Allah (S.A.W) said "Leave that which causes you doubt for that which does not cause you doubt." [Tirmidhi]

This hadith is one of the ahadith around which the whole religion revolves: it is the foundation of scrupulousness around which revolves certainty; and it brings relief from the dark oppressiveness of doubts and speculation.

None has the Right to be Worshipped but Allah

Narrated by Anas (Radiyallahu 'anhu) reported that the prophet of Allah (S.A.W) said,
"Whoever said "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a barley grain will be taken out of Hell.

And whoever said, "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a wheat grain will be taken out of Hell.

And whoever said, "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of an atom will be taken out of Hell."

Wudhu is a Cleanser

Rasul Allah (S.A.W) said, "When a servant makes wudhu and washes his mouth, the sins committed by his mouth are washed out. When he cleans his nose, the sins are cleansed from his nose. When he washes his face, the sins of his face are washed off, even from under the eyelids. When he washes the hands, the sins of his hands are washed off, even from beneath the nails of his hands. When he wipes his head, the sins from his head come off, even from his ears. When he washes his feet, the sins of his feet are washed off, even from under his toe nails. Then his walking to the masjid and prayers are rewarded separately." [Nasaai]

From this hadith we learn that not only is wudhu a physical cleanser of the dust and grime that accumulates on our bodies, but that it is a spiritual cleanser as well. Allah Mighty and Majestic, in His Infinite Mercy, has granted us purification from our minor sins with the performance of wudhu. Sins committed by a particular part of the body are washed off by the water that flows over it. So for example, the sin having seen something indecent will be removed by the washing of the face. As no body that is washed five times a day can be dirty, so also no soul that is washed five times a day can be filthy.

"What do you say about fornication, drinking wine and theft?"
"Allah and his messenger know best,"

"They are acts of outrage and there is punishment for them, but shall I tell you which is the greatest wrong action? Associating with All Almighty and disobeying parents."

The Doors of Sadaqah!

Abu Dhar al-Ghafari said: "The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: 'Sadaqah is prescibed for every person every day the sun rises.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, from what do we give sadaqah if we do not possess property?' He said: 'The doors of sadaqah are takbir (Allahu Akbar) Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La-ilaha-ilAllah, Astaghfirullah, enjoining good, forbidding evil, removing thorns, bones and stones from the paths of people, guiding the blind, listening to the deaf and dumb until you understand them, guiding a person to his object of need if you know where it is, hurrying with the strength of your legs to one in sorrow who is appealing for help, and supporting the weak with the strength of your arms. these are all the doors of sadaqah." [Ahmad]
In other words one does not need to have financial resources to earn the reward of sadaqah. There are many deeds that qualify as sadaqah with Allah. In addition to those listed aboe the following ordinary courtesies are also sadaqah if we do them with the intention of pleasing Allah with them.
1. To administer justice between two people is sadaqah.
2. To assist a man upon his mount so that he may ride it is sadaqah.
3.To place his luggage on the animal is sadaqah
4. A good word is sadaqah.
5. Every step taken toward prayer is sadaqah.
6. Your smile for your brother/sister is sadaqah.
7. Planting anything from which a person, an animal or anything eats is sadaqah.
8. Helping your brother/sister with homework is sadaqah.
